Next week we will kick off our February Spirit Week. Please be looking for announcements from the Student Council. In honor of this kick-off and Super Bowl Sunday this weekend we will have a spirit day this Friday. Who is your favorite team or who are you cheering for? Wear your favorite team or team colors or stick with our true colors black and gold. Winter can always use a little cheer!!!
Celebrate Spread the Love Week 2/10-2/14 with the dress-up days listed in the ad! There will be pride sessions in the commons at the High School on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Friday we will have a pep assembly!
Attention All 9th, 10th, and 11th Grade Student Athletes: Sign up on FlexiSched now for the Athletic Performance PRIDE in the PAC on Friday. Mr. Wittemeyer and Mr. Hinders will provide information about how to register for Athletic Performance class during the 25-26 school year. Only student-athletes will be allowed to register for the PRIDE, and all returning student-athletes are expected to attend. 12th grade students do not need to attend.
SENIORS! Scholarship date changes. Scholarships will open on February 10th and will close on March 14th. Please see Mrs. Cauwels in Student Services if you have questions.
The Bettendorf Goldusters invite any student in grades 6-11 to join the BHS dance team for a week of being a Golduster! Students will attend two practices with the team and also have the opportunity to perform at a girls' varsity basketball game on February 11. Register by this Thursday, February 6 by using our link or on Facebook or Instagram. We can’t wait to dance with you!
The BHS Library has debuted collectible bookmarks! Visit our traveling book displays in Student Services, the Career Center, and Ms. Huff's art room (G001) to collect the first 3. New books and bookmarks will be added to these locations at the start of every new month until the end of the school year. Keep checking each of these traveling book displays to collect all 15 bookmarks. Happy reading!
The BHS Library is hosting Black History Month Read-Ins for the month of February. All students and staff are invited to sign up using this form. Participants will choose one of 4 recently published award winning books by Black authors to read and discuss in twice-weekly lunch groups in the library on Thursdays and Fridays. If you are signed up, you will be allowed to eat in the library. Students who complete "the challenge" by the end of the month will receive a FREE BOOK. Conservation Club meets every Monday from 3:30-4:30 in room C302. If you're interested in saving species by planting flowers and testing water quality, or you're interested in going on field trips that include boating on the Mississippi River or hiking through forests, join us!!

Cultural Diversity Club next Meeting :) Wednesday, February 12th at 7:35 am in the COMMONS-- we are having our photo taken for the yearbook and working on Black History Month Celebrations :)
French club will meet next Thursday, February 6. We will be exploring French pastries. Some pastries will be provided, but feel free to bring a snack of your own to share! It doesn't have to be a French pastry. :)

2/6/25 - BHS will be offering the ASVAB test on February 6 in the Career Center. The test is free and there is absolutely no obligation to join the military. The ASVAB is required for anyone that does plan on joining the military, but also can help guide decisions about college, technical schools, or skilled trades, for students not enlisting. If you have any questions, please stop in the Career Center! An email will be sent with more information prior to testing for those that did sign up. Signup HERE
2/13/25 - IT, Cybersecurity, and AI Career Visit - Discover more about the exciting career paths in IT, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence. Rouse Consulting Group located in the QC will be here for an interactive session about the education, certifications, and career opportunities in these exciting fields. 2/20/25 - Speech Language Pathology & Audiology Careers - Come visit Augustana College and learn about a career in speech-language pathology or audiology! You will have the opportunity to meet with students and faculty in the program, and tour the clinic where they serve hundreds of speech therapy clients. You will also learn more about speech and hearing through hands-on activities like being introduced to sign language and hearing screenings. You will find out about careers in SLP at schools, hospitals and private practice. Signup Here
